Well, I was just browsing around, and I stumbled upon an article that says Alexis has been cast in the upcoming film, The Conspirator. This film is directed by Robert Redford, and apparently Alexis will be playing James McAvoy’s wife. Check it out:

Robert Redford has a killer cast for “The Conspirator,” the period drama he is directing about the aftermath of President Lincoln’s assassination.

Tom Wilkinson, Evan Rachel Wood, Kevin Kline and Alexis Bledel will join James McAvoy and Robin Wright Penn in the drama, which is being financed by the American Film Co., a venture headed by online brokerage entrepreneur Joe Ricketts.

Shooting began Monday in Savannah, Georgia.

Evanrachel_newflem Wright Penn plays Mary Surratt, the only female charged in the conspiracy to kill the president, and McAvoy plays Frederick Aiken, the war hero assigned to defend her. Wilkinson will play Reverdy Johnson, the former attorney general who as U.S. Senator is the mentor to the young lawyer, and sympathetic to Surratt. Wood plays Surratt’s daughter, Anna, and Kline plays Lincoln’s War Secretary Edwin Stanton. Bledel plays Aiken’s wife, Catherine Morgan.

Redford is producing with AFC’s Robert Stone, Webster Stone and Brian Falk and Kingsgate Films’ Greg Shapiro. Wildwood Enterprises’ Bill Holderman is exec producer.

Justin Long also plays a role.

James Solomon wrote the script.

I’m not sure if this is confirmed or not, if I hear anything else then I will let you know.

I will try to update the sidebar with the current projects soon.

There is a new article mentioning one of Alexis’ upcoming films, the Good Guy. Check it out:

Roadside Attractions has acquired worldwide rights to Julio DePietro’s “The Good Guy,” which premiered earlier this year at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film stars Alexis Bledel, Scott Porter, Anna Chlumsky and Bryan Greenberg, and will be released the theatrically in March 2010, with Mandate International handling foreign sales. The film was produced by Linda Moran and Rene Bastian of Belladonna Productions as well as DePietro.

The film follows Beth (Bledel), who falls hard for Tommy (Porter), a “young Wall Street hot-shot.” But just as everything seems to be falling into place, complications arise in the form of Tommy’s sensitive and handsome co-worker Daniel (Greenberg).

“This is an entertaining, provocative film about three great subjects – love, money, and New York City,” said Roadside’s Howard Cohen in a statement. “We think the stellar cast will attract a lot of young fans, but anyone who’s ever dreamt of making it in the big apple will relate to this story.”

“We really wanted to make a fun date movie that men would actually like as much as women, and I think Alexis’ fans will be happy to finally see her playing a much more grown-up role,” added writer/director DePietro in a statement.

I’m so happy Alexis is coming up with all these new projects, it will be great to see her working again! ;)

We have a new article about the Kate Logan Affair, which Alexis is interviewed in. Check it out:

In the film, which began shooting late last month and wraps Oct. 19, Montreal-based actor Laurent Lucas – who also hails from France – plays Benoit Gando, a French manager over in Canada on a business trip. In a small town somewhere out west, he runs into a young police officer, played by Bledel, who mistakenly arrests him, thinking he’s a rapist the cops are seeking. Worried about her error, the officer, Kate Logan, seduces the Frenchman.

Both Mitrani and Bledel made it clear, without providing plot-spoiling details, that this affair leads to no small amount of unexpected trouble for both of them.

Bledel plays an officer who has just recently joined a small-town police force.

“She’s new and has a lot to prove and she definitely gives off an air that suggests that,” said Bledel, who is most famous for playing Rory in the long- running TV series, Gilmore Girls, and has also starred in the films Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Sin City.

That insecurity is why Logan freaks when she realizes she’s arrested the wrong guy. “She’s very embarrassed,” said Bledel. “She takes the mistake very hard. She’s very hard on herself.”

So she has some issues?

“That’s correct,” said Bledel. “She might not be wired correctly. That might be the best way to describe her without giving too much away. She’s not necessarily what she seems.”
